Fatima: feedback about volunteering

Feedback about volunteering in VitaTiim


Volunteering at VitaTiim was a great experience. I really appreciate the opportunity to have volunteered there. The place (a cozy house) and the people (VitaTiim team and the community around it) are great! In VitaTiim I never felt like I was in a stressed work environment, it was more like a second home in Estonia. It is a perfect place to meet and talk with everyone. And what I also really enjoyed were all the excursions and activities that VitaTiim organized for the volunteers. I had a really nice time there. Thank you!

What might have made the experience a bit more difficult was the language barrier. Especially because many events are held in Russian, so unfortunately we couldn't participate in them. And if I were to change something, I would maybe put up a plan indicating the program for that particular day, so it's a bit clearer. But other than that, I think everything is great!

Thank you very much for letting me be a volunteer here and giving me the opportunity to get to know VitaTiim.


Feedback about volunteering in Estonia


In my opinion, Estonia is a great country to do volunteer service. The community is open to new ideas, activities and projects. You feel welcome to be yourself and be creative! Also, the landscape is incredibly beautiful. There are a lot of forests and especially in fall and winter it looks breathtaking. You can feel that nature is an important part of the culture and that it is very well preserved. 

However, I recommend reading more about the place where you will be living before you arrive. There is a big difference if you live in Tallinn or in a smaller city. For example, living in Narva was also a different experience than living in the rest of Estonia. So, don't be surprised that you will have different experiences from city to city.

And I would like to add that the only thing I did not enjoy so much was the cold weather, but that's more of a personal thing. If you enjoy winter, you will be more than happy here.
